There may be times you need to contact PayPal either by phone or by email.
If you need help immediately, it is best to contact PayPal by phone, but if you can wait at least a day, you can send an email to PayPal if you already have a PayPal account.
Contacting PayPal by phone does have it’s challenges though.
You have the option of calling the PayPal U.S number 1888-21-1161, or if you are outside the U.S, you can call another number 1 (402) 935 2050. Upon calling, you will hear two rings and then an automated response.
From experience getting an automatic response can be annoying, because there are times you may speak a response, but the automated machine may not pick up what you have said.
After calling PayPal and getting the first automated response, the following options are available:
- You will be asked to provide a one-time passcode provided by PayPal. This option is available to you if you have a PayPal account already.
- If you don’t have a one-time passcode, you can state the following words “I don’t have one.”
- Or you can say “one moment please,” to give you time to find your passcode.
If you don’t have a passcode, you will be asked by the automated machine whether you have a PayPal account or not.
If not, then you have to state in a sentence exactly what problem you are having. This can be tricky as if you don’t speak specific phrases, the automated machine will not understand.
After your response has is accepted you are then sent to the next available customer service representative.
Therefore you have to wait for a client service representative answer you which can take a few seconds or a few minutes.
If you want to contact PayPal by way of email, you can send PayPal a message if you already have a PayPal account.
PayPal service hours are:
4:00 AM PST to 10:00 PM PST Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM PST Saturday and Sunday
